Music Review: Invasion of Privacy by Cardi B

*1 Listen Review*

Back in June 2017, Cardi B released her debut single “Bodak Yellow” and before we knew it, in September of 2017 it was the #1 Song Country, taking down the then #1 song “Look What You Made Me Do” from Pop Star Taylor Swift. Over the course of the rest of 2017 and the first few months of 2018, she would lend verses to G-Eazy “No Limit”, Migos “Motorsport”, and Bruno Mars “Finesse (Remix)” just to name a few that have gone on to be hit records, in part because of her. Now, today April 6, 2018 Cardi B has finally after a few reported false starts and announcements her debut album “Invasion of Privacy”.

With features from 21 Savage on the platinum selling “Bartier Cardi”, Migos (“Drip”), SZA (“I Do”), YG (“She Bad”), J Balvin & Bad Bunny (“I Like It”), Kehlani (“Ring”) and Chance The Rapper (“Best Life”), Cardi has proven that “Bodak Yellow” wasn’t a fluke and that she has plenty of fellow artists willing to help her continue to rise and obtain success. My favorites after 1 listen include “Get Up 10”, “She Bad”, “Drip”, and “Best Life”. Other standout tracks that I can see women jamming to include “Through Your Phone”, “Be Careful” and “Bickenhead”.

According to Forbes, thanks to the new Streaming Rules the Bronx Rapper’s debut is already certified Gold thanks to the 5x Multiplatinum single “Bodak Yellow”.

Cardi B’s career trajectory is looking like its going to continue to rise and with a debut album that has multiple hit records on it along with her label, Atlantic Records continuing to promote and market her like they’ve done so far, 2018 will be another fruitful year Cardi B.
