Music Review: SR3MM by Rae Sremmurd
In Hip-Hop today, we’re always comparing someone to another person. When it comes to groups there’s Migos, the Atlanta Trio comprising of Quavo, Offset and Takeoff and then there’s Rae Sremmurd, comprising of Swae Lee and his real life older brother Slim Jxmmi. Ever since producer Mike Will Made It unleashed the siblings four years ago with their hit single “No Flex Zone”, they’ve showed that if anyone has a reason to flex…it’s them, they’ve grown into stars and legitimate hit makers. In order to further prove their dominance and showcase their talents on their third album the guys decided to take what OutKast did with Speakerboxxx/The Love Below and push the envelope by incorporating a Third disk. Consisting of their group album “SR3MM” as well as their individual solo debuts; Swae Lee’s “Swaecation” and Slim Jxmmi’s “JXMTRO”. When this was first announced ,just like most people I was really looking forward to hearing Swae Lee’s debut because the young man is undeniably a Super Star after proving his chops on 5x platinum single “Unforgettable” with French Montana, “Sativa” from Jhene Aiko, and “Poor Fool” from 2 Chainz just to name a few.
